The sister chorus to the Harmony Katz, Syracuse’s own barbershop chorus, which is comprised of over eighty-five men from all walks of life who love to sing and through their singing, give back to the community. Our vision is quite simple:
“Make Life Better Singing Barbershop Music”
1. “Promote fellowship and friendship among people of good character”
2. “Perpetuate, celebrate and preserve harmony in the barbershop style”
3. “Provide the opportunity to experience the joy of 4-part Barbershop singing”.
4. “Sustains music in the lives of people in our community”
5. “Service to others through our Music”
We aspire “to be an ever growing singing organization that is ageless, colorless and dedicated to the average singer having fun creating and preserving extraordinary music in the barbershop style, an organization that is known in our community for making a difference singing.” A Musical Family in which everyone is encouraged on their own personal musical journey to be the best they can be. A Place where average individual voices collectively make above average music that is special and rewarding for both listener and singer.
Your weekly Musical Guide (Director) is Mrs. Lisa Ellis. Her knowledge and passion for vocal music will encourage and inspire you to performances beyond what you believed possible. You’ll learn so much about your voice, vocal techniques, how to sing in an ensemble, and along your musical journey you’ll create lifelong friendships with some of the most amazing people.
The Katz Meow meet on Monday evenings 6:30 - 9:00 pm at the Ginger Bread House 3004 Court Street, Lyncourt
Lisa is the Heart of the Katz Meow and is using her degree in music to bring her expertise, gifts, love and leadership to every rehearsal and performance. A true musician, who encourages the best from every singer that she works with.
